TP ICAP has named a new chief executive officer of its data and analytics division, following Frank Desmond’s decision to depart after 12 years with the firm.
Eric Sinclair, the former president of Toronto Stock Exchange’s (TMX) market insights division, will assume the role as of 13 November this year.
Sinclair spent 14 years at TMX where he led the expansion of the data business, focussing on partnerships and acquisitions, as well as the development of new products.
He commented that throughout the process of joining TP ICAP, it was clear the firm has “high ambition for its information services division and I am excited to be a part of its growth and development story”.
John Phizackerley, chief executive at TP ICAP, explained Sinclair will play an instrumental role as products, services and analytics capabilities expand within the business.
He added Desmond, the former CEO of the data division, “has seen the business grow into the world’s leading provider of proprietary data business with a completely unique source of data”.
