London-based Kirk was previously an equity trader at brokerage firm BTIG and has also held senior positions at ConvergEx Group as vice president, and RBS as European head of agency portfolio trading.
Speaking at the time his departure was announced, Kirk said that he was hugely motivated to move onto this new challenge.
Earlier this year, Rowley Aird, former managing director at Tourmaline Partners, joined Raymond James’ global equity trading division – helping to set up global trading from Europe, reporting to global heads in the US.
