TORA has selected a former EMEA equity trading specialist from Cabrera Capital Markets for a new outsourced trading role.
William Faulkner has joined TORA as an outsourced trader after most recently serving as a equity block trader for EMEA and a sales trader for APAC and EMEA for the last year at Cabrera Capital Markets.
Prior to joining Cabrera in 2021, Faulkner spent around 10 years in equity sales trading roles at Citi and UBS in electronic and high touch trading positions.
Previously in his career, Faulker also served across GFI Group and Mirae Asset Global Investment in equity trading roles and at Bloomberg’s Tradebook in European equity sales.
His appointment follows the recent acquisition of TORA by the London Stock Exchange Group for $325 million in February earlier this year.
Speaking to The TRADE, group head of trading and banking solutions at LSEG, Dean Berry, said the exchange planned to utilise TORA’s extensive outsourced trading business for clients also using its underlying systems.
“The buy-side is moving towards outsourcing trading the middle- and back-office and so it’s [the acquisition of TORA by LSEG] a natural step for anybody that’s trying to serve the buy-side to have those service offerings,” said TORA chief executive Robert Dykes in The TRADE’s recent deep dive into the deal.
