The TRADE launches MiFID II roadshow to unravel complexities of the regulation across Europe

A series of MiFID II review roadshows around Europe will deliver targeted and comprehensive discussions and debates on the upcoming changes most relevant to the industry.

The TRADE is delighted to be partnering with leading exchanges across Europe to host a series of roadshows designed to cast light on the complexities of the upcoming MiFID II review.

It’s been a turbulent few years since MiFID II was first introduced back in 2018, and the industry has seen seismic changes as practitioners, operators and providers struggle to adjust to the new regulatory regime and the significantly increased reporting requirements that accompanied it.

Although of crucial importance, the regulation has been subject to criticism from the industry for its complexity and inflexibility, and the authorities have listened to these concerns. In late 2021, the European Commission agreed to a review, proposing a broad set of amendments that could once again up-end the markets.

The changes cover a wide range of topics and one of the most challenging issues, our readers tell us, is keeping up to date with the constantly changing parameters and understanding what these new requirements mean for their day-to-day business.

So, we want to help. With targeted events designed specifically for the issues more relevant to each market, we’ll be gathering together experts from the buy- and sell-side along with regulators, providers and venue representatives, to discuss the impact that these changes could have on your business and how best to prepare for them.

From dark trading to lit market changes, consolidated tape for both equity and fixed income, payment for order flow, updates to the systematic internaliser regime, and much more, these roadshows will dive deep into the regulation: exploring the potential for divergence, the opportunities for cooperation and the outlook for the future.

We kick off in London in partnership with LSEG, hosting the first event on 3 May at the London Stock Exchange, with keynote speakers revealed in the coming days. We then move to Paris Euronext for 24 May, Stockholm Stock Exchange on 8 June, and watch out for a further event in Frankfurt with the date to be confirmed.

Don’t miss out, register for London today.
