The TRADE is pleased to announce the next in its series of MiFID II events, Check In, a full-day conference on 28 February reviewing the first two months of operating under the new regulation.
Held at the prestigious Merchant Taylors’ Hall, a 14th-century guild hall in London, the event will feature a full day of off-the-record speakers, panels and fireside chats.
Experts will be dissecting how the industry has handled the initial regulatory changes of MiFID II and what needs to happen next as the shifting regulatory landscape brings new issues to light and provides opportunities for projects have previously taken a backseat to preparation efforts.
The MiFID Check In event follows on from The TRADE’s MiFID II Checklist conference held last October, where over 150 delegates comprised of heads of trading, chief executives of global brokers and exchange groups, and a host of industry experts gathered to debate the final preparations for the 3 January implementation date.
“MiFID II is undoubtedly one of the most complex undertakings the institutional finance market has undertaken, particularly for the buy-side community which has never had to grapple with regulatory change on this scale before and an enormous volume of resources have been spent leading up to its introduction,” says John Brazier, editor of The TRADE.
“While there will now be plenty of opportunities to revisit missed opportunities in the run-up to MiFID II, it’s vital that the industry continues to look forward when it comes to the intersection between regulation and operations. In this vein, The MiFID II Check In event will examine how investment managers are handling the new regime and ensure future compliance across topics such as investment research, reporting and best execution.”
