Ian Power was named head of UBS’s Execution Hub, EMEA, having most recently served as the firm’s head of multi-asset trading, UK. He took over from Chris Blackburn who departed in February after nearly nine years with UBS. Prior to joining the firm, London-based Power served as a global multi-asset and derivatives trader at Newton IM, and before that as head of trading at Standard Life Investments. Power has also worked in derivatives-related positions at various firms, including: Ignis Asset Management, Axial Investment Management, and RBS.
Nicholas Zerante was appointed head of trading at Delta Global Management, based in New York. He previously spent nearly eight and a half years at Viking Global Investors in a series of senior positions. Most recently, Zerante served as head of international trading at the firm, based in London. Prior to that, he held positions as head of international equity capital markets (ECM), as well as head of European trading and also previously spent two years at Conatus Capital Management. Elsewhere in his career, Zerante spent four years at Barclays, most recently serving as a materials equity trader.
Chris Hart joined Marex as an equity trader following more than a decade at UK-based investment bank Peel Hunt. Most recently, London-based Hart served as co-head of the Execution Hub, overseeing a merged international desk and retail desk – the latter of which he had overseen since 2014. Previously in his career, Hart has worked as a trader and market maker across firms including Oriel Securities, Fox Davies Capital, Suncorp, and Gerrard Stockbrokers, as well as serving a stint in a retail-focused role at Royal Bank of Scotland.
Deutsche Bank appointed Otis Bateman in an Australian rates trading position. He joined the firm from UBS, where he spent the last nine years in a variety of trading-related roles based in both London and Sydney. Most recently, he served as director of rates trading; a position he held for just over a year. Prior to that, Bateman served as an AUD/NZD rates trader. Elsewhere in his tenure at UBS, Bateman held a bond trading position, as well as an FX, rates and credit sales role.
