People Moves Monday: Barclays, LCH Limited and KNG Securities

The past week saw appointments across equities, fixed income sales and the C-suite.

Paul Johnson was named head of equities, Asia Pacific at Barclays, based in Hong Kong, as the firm looks to enhance its regional capabilities and drive growth in the region. Most recently, he served as APAC co-head of equity derivatives and head of exotics equity derivatives trading at Goldman Sachs in Hong Kong. Johnson has more than 20 years’ experience in equities and derivatives, having previously served in a range of roles across Europe and Asia. Past roles include stints as head of CEEMEA and Latin America FXO trading at Bank of America in London – focused on the MENA region, and as a trader at Goldman Sachs working on CEEMEA FXO.

The London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) named Susi de Verdelon chief executive of LCH Limited, set to assume the role next month pending regulatory approvals. De Verdelon joined LCH Limited in 2017 and currently serves as group head of LCH SwapClear and Listed Rates. Before joining LCH Limited, she held various sales and strategy roles in the securities division as a managing director at Goldman Sachs. De Verdelon will report to Maguire and will replace Isabelle Girolami, who has served as LCH Limited’s chief executive since November 2019.

Fixed income investment bank KNG Securities appointed Edward Williams to its fixed income sales team as an emerging markets fixed income specialist. He joined the bank from Mizuho International, where he most recently served as director within emerging markets credit sales. Elsewhere in his career, Williams held credit sales-related roles at VTB Capital, BNP Paribas, ING Nederland and CIBC World Markets.
