The London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) has promoted from within for two new senior equities and trading roles as it continues to overhaul its leadership, The TRADE can reveal.
Lida Eslami, LSEG’s former head of business development for exchange traded products and its international order book, has been appointed head of equities and ETP sales and relationship management. She is reporting into Sally Francis-Cole, head of global FX sales and equities trading sales.
Eslami has been with the exchange for over 12 years, joining in 2011 as an ETF product specialist and since serving in several roles including as a manager of listed products and head of exchange traded products business development. Prior to joining LSEG, she spent a year at Deutsche Bank in an ETF-focused role and a year at AllianceBernstein as a fixed income investment analyst.
Alongside Eslami’s appointment, David Briody, the exchange’s former head of proprietary and quantitative trading, has been appointed head of origination and specialist trading, also reporting into Francis-Cole.
Briody originally joined LSEG in 2015, having previously served across SIX Swiss Exchange and Proquote Retail Trading, which was later acquired by LSEG.
Tom Stenhouse remains head of equities trading product, reporting to Julia Hoggett, and leads Turquoise NYLON, membership and product strategy alongside his existing remit across LSE and Turquoise.
LSEG’s capital markets make over was first announced at the end of last year, with changes that were designed to ensure the exchange’s leadership reflected its newly expanded asset class universe – the exchange acquired an FX business through its landmark Refinitiv deal in 2021 and digital assets through its TORA acquisition completed last year.

As part of the reshuffle the exchange said goodbye to some of its longer standing names including chief executive officer of its MTF Turquoise, Dr Robert Barnes who left at the end of last year after nine years in his role, and Scott Bradley, former head of sales and platform distribution for LSEG securities trading.
Former head of Turquoise Europe, Adam Wood, has been appointed to replace Barnes, as reported by The TRADE.
