Former Northern Trust sales trader Maddy Davies has joined Liontrust as a trader in its multi asset trading team, The TRADE can reveal.
Davies joins Liontrust following a two-year stint at Northern Trust. During her time at the investment bank, Davies served in several roles including as a capital markets analyst, working with various departments, including equity trading and sales trading, integrated trading solutions, and transition management.
“We are extremely pleased that Maddy will be joining Liontrust as a trader and she will bring a great deal to the trading team,” Matthew McLoughin, chief commercial officer at Liontrust, told The TRADE.
“Her financial markets experience, involvement in the Sustainable Trading organisation along with her European language skills will pay dividends as the Liontrust business continues to grow and develop.”
Davies’ appointment comes as Liontrust multi-asset trader Xavier Leopold departs. Xavier joined Liontrust in February 2020 after previously holding positions at State Street Global Advisers and Linear Investments.
“I am looking forward to joining the trading team at Liontrust and contributing to the ongoing success of the business, while continuing to maintain and build my relationships within the industry,” Davies told The TRADE.
Liontrust recently won The TRADE’s multi asset trading desk of the year award in 2022 at Leaders in Trading.
