ING has appointed Pim Kist as its new Head of Equity Capital Markets (ECM), in addition to a new managing director, Rico Overhaart.
Kist comes to ING from ABN Amro where he worked as a senior dealer for principal corporate finance and ECM, responsible for overseeing IPOs, ABBs and preference shares transactions. According to ING, Kist has over 10 years experience in corporate finance and ECM. Kist will report to Leo Greve, head of global capital markets.
The appointment of Kist comes in addition to ING’s acquisition of managing director Rico Overhaart. Overhaart, a graduate of the University of Amsterdam, worked as a managing director at ABN Amro. Overhaart also worked as an MD at the Royal Bank of Scotland in London and Sydney prior to joining ABN Amro. Overhaart will report directly to Kist.
Commenting on the appointments, Greve said: “We are pleased to bring such experienced and senior talent into the team. These hires shows ING’s commitment to the business at a time where our peers are retrenching. “
