Credit Suisse has appointed former Goldman Sachs partner Michael Ryan as its new head of securities for the investment banking division.

According to the Swiss bank, Ryan will take up the position in the middle of this year.

“Mike will enhance our outstanding management team as we continue to grow our securities businesses aggressively, consistent with our strategy,” says Brady Dougan, chief executive of Credit Suisse’s investment banking division. “I am convinced that at Credit Suisse, Mike’s insight, drive for excellence, management skills and overall knowledge of the business will enhance and expand upon the success of our securities businesses.”

For Ryan, the new job closes an 18-year career at Goldman Sachs, where he was most recently global co-head of its equity products group, responsible for all client-related products and services.
