ResearchPool has teamed up with CorporateAccessNetwork to launch a research platform compliant with Mifid II rules on the use of intermediaries.
The platform will allow users to access investment research and connect with corporate management of listed companies without having to pass through an intermediary.
Chief executive officer at ResearchPool, Pedro Fernandes, said direct access to management of listed companies is a “major element” to complementing access to financial research.
He said: “Prior to the application of Mifid II we are offering investors a new approach to combine these two services within a powerful, efficient and simple solution as a result of the partnership we’re announcing today."
Mifid II rules to improve transparency and reduce conflict of interest, means investors will have to change the way they pay, obtain and consume research.
The regulation on research will apply from 3 January 2018.
A similar service was founded in 2013 called Ingage IR, which offers institutional investors direct access to senior management teams at listed companies.
It aims to reduce costly middlemen following regulation on using client cash to fund corporate access.
The TRADE will be hosting a series of ‘pop-up’ events throughout Europe designed for buy-side trading firms and their partners to discuss the strategies, systems and working practices necessary to comply with MiFID II.
