The former chief executive officer of Nasdaq NLX has stepped in as interim CEO of FinTech trade body Innovate Finance.
Charlotte Crosswell has temporarily taken over the role from Lawrence Wintermeyer who stepped down as CEO after two and a half years.
Natalie Ceeney, chair of Innovate Finance, commented despite Wintermeyer taking up the role when the organisation was just a year old, it has grown to become a community of more than 250 members.
“FinTech is one of the UK’s success stories, now employing over 60,000 people in the UK, and contributing £6.6 billion to the economy. Innovate Finance has played a critical part in enabling and supporting FinTech’s growth, with Wintermeyer at the helm,” she said.
Crosswell will serve as its CEO during the search for a permanent successor to Wintermeyer.
She has extensive career experience, most recently as CEO of derivatives exchange Nasdaq NLX, which shut down in April this year due to low interest rates and declining volumes.
Nasdaq NLX was launched in 2013 and offered short and long-term interest rates on euro- and sterling-denominated listed derivatives.
