Brian Traquair, a pioneer of capital markets technology for over 20 years, has retired.
Traquair, previously group executive vice president for the FIS Global capital markets business, stepped down from his role last month, one year after the company acquired technology vendor SunGard.
The technology veteran led the development of SunGard’s derivatives processing utility, which has signed up Barclays and Credit Suisse as clients.
Traquair led the capital markets business at SunGard, in which he led all of the tech vendor’s sell-side solutions for equities, fixed income and derivatives.
Traquair joined the tech vendor in 2001 following the purchase of Loanet, a securities finance business for broker-dealers, custodians and agent lenders.
He also served as a general manager for global trading at Instinet.
A spokesperson for FIS was unable to comment at the time of print.
