BNP Paribas Asset Management adds chief data officer

Newly created role established to oversee data management across the investment management firm.

BNP Paribas Asset Management has appointed a chief data officer in a newly created role to oversee the firm’s data management.

Christophe Bonnefoux joins BNP Paribas after a five-year stint at Accenture Digital, where he was most recently director of data and business analytics.

Bonnefoux has more than 20 years experience working across data and business analytics at large financial institutions.

At BNP Paribas, Bonnefoux will be responsible for determining the direction of data integrity and quality, defining a data quality management framework and promoting the use of data tools.

Based in Paris,  Bonnefoux will report to Fabrice Silberzan, chief operating officer at BNP Paribas Asset Management.

“The creation of this new role is a key step in our ambitious data management plan, which will benefit our clients, along with other initiatives in the areas of artificial intelligence and digital development,” said Silberzan.

“The areas for which Christophe is responsible are key to the future of our company, and his extensive experience, including knowledge of digital challenges and big data will be of considerable benefit.”
