BlackRock’s director of equities trading for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) has departed after seven years to join hedge fund, Millennium.
Laimonas Staskus joined Millennium in an index rebalancing role in February according to his social media page after spending the last seven years at BlackRock responsible for its equities EMEA business, primarily for index strategies.
BlackRock confirmed the move but declined to comment on his departure.
Previously in his career Staskus spent three years at Barclays Capital as an assistant vice president for Japan and Asian equities trading and two years in a Japan equities trading role at Daiwa Securities Capital Markets.
Staskus’ departure from BlackRock follows his nomination and subsequent winning of The TRADE’s coveted Trader of the Year (Long only) award at Leaders in Trading 2021.
