Bernstein’s financial research division taps Jefferies for new US bank analysts

Both appointments bring more than 20 years’ experience to the firm, having previously held positions at Jefferies and Bank of America.

Autonomous, the financial services research business division within Bernstein, has appointed two new US bank analysts.

Ken Usdin has been appointed co-head of the Autonomous US business, covering large-cap banks alongside Dwight Collins, who heads the research business’ US sales team.

Usdin brings 27 years’ worth of experience in equity research, having most recently served at Jefferies. He also previously held roles at Bank of America, UBS, Lehman Brothers and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

Elsewhere, Casey Haire has been appointed managing director to cover US mid-cap banks.

Haire brings 20 years’ worth of experience, also joining Autonomous from Jefferies.

Elsewhere in their career, Casey held positions at Bank of America and Putnam Lovell.

“We are delighted that two specialist analysts of the highest calibre have chosen to join Autonomous,” said Robert van Brugge, chief executive at Bernstein.

“These appointments demonstrate our commitment to the Autonomous product, which is renowned in the industry for providing best-in-class research on the financial services sector for the benefit of clients.”
