UK-based trading venues have announced varying levels of closure on 19 September in light of Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral being declared a bank holiday.
The London Stock Exchange confirmed in a member notice that it would be closing its markets on Monday. The London Metal Exchange (LME) confirmed that its offices will be closed on 19 September but that its markets will remain open. During open outcry, the ring will be suspended and the trading fees of the day will be donated to charity, LME added.
ICE Futures Europe also announced amendments to its trading schedule: including a list of futures and options contracts which, due to the public holiday, will be closed on Monday.
Elsewhere, Cboe confirmed in a notice that it will be closing its Cboe Europe London equities segment and futures and options tied to the UK100 contract on CEDX. All other markets will remain open for full trading days. Cboe added in its notice that its Cboe UK and NL APAs will remain open for trade reporting in all market segments.
The Aquis Stock Exchange will be closed entirely on Monday. Aquis also confirmed in a member notice that its UK market will not be open for trading, however trading for EU and Swiss securities will continue. Aquis EU will open for trading as usual.
