Data providers increase Asian coverage
Interactive Data Corporation, Equinix and Carpathia are
expanding their respective offerings in Asia to provide customers with higher
quality market data and faster connections. Interactive Data Corporation’s
expansion comes from an alliance with terminal provider Quick Corp and the implementation
of Hong Kong ticker plants to reduce latency. Separately, Equinix’s development
comes as a result of its newly-formed relationship with hosting service,
Carpathia.
Through the new alliance, Quick Corp terminal users in Japan will benefit from the Interactive
Data Corporation’s fixed
income data offering.
“Interactive
Data covers a broad range of fixed income data, such as pricing data, reference
information, and 36 countries’ spot/par yield data,” Gakuji Takahashi,
executive general manager, Quick Corp. “We believe this broad coverage will
benefit QUICK users, providing them a robust tool to support their daily
business and meet their requirements in a changing financial environment.”
Interactive
Data has also announced its ticker plants, based in Hong Kong, are now
live. The ticker plants offer a
significant reduction in latency of PlusFeed, Interactive Data’s low-latency,
consolidated global data feed. Interactive Data’s new low-latency co-location
facilities in Hong Kong will also offer international clients the option to
co-locate their applications alongside the ticker plants. This will let them obtain
optimised low-latency delivery of Asian data via the Interactive Data sites in
Hong Kong.
“With the
growth of electronic trading in Asia and higher data volumes globally, clients
in Asian markets have an increasing need for cost-effective, real-time market
data and delivery,” said Emmanuel Doe, president, Trading Solutions Group, Interactive
Data. “We continue to expand our electronic trading services in Asia and
elsewhere throughout the world to meet these requirements.”
Meantime, data
centre service provider Equinix and Carpathia Hosting have extended their
alliance in Hong Kong. This is the first deployment for Carpathia in the Asia
Pacific region and is a part of a broader strategic alliance between both organisations.
The alliance combines Equinix’s global footprint of carrier-neutral data centres
and Carpathia’s scalable and secure enterprise-grade complex and compliant
managed hosting solutions.
“Our customers have some very unique requirements when
it comes to transaction throughput, bandwidth and latency,” said Jon Greaves,
CTO of Carpathia Hosting. “We work closely with Equinix and our customers to
design solutions that meet both the needs of the overall business as well as
the financial metrics.”
