Euroclear hires Awan to lead collateral management
Saheed Awan has been appointed head of central
securities depository (CSD) Euroclear’s collateral management product management
team.
Awan was director and head of global securities
financing at rival CSD Clearstream from 1993 to 2008. After that, he worked for
two years as a consultant, before joining consultancy Global Collateral
Management Services (GCMS) as a partner.
Most recently, he was partner and European head
of DerivaTrust, a peer-to-peer financial instrument and OTC derivatives
discovery platform.
“Saheed has many years of market experience,
much of which has been dedicated to the collateral management business,” said
Jo Van de Velde, managing director and head of product management at Euroclear.
“We welcome Saheed, who is based in London, and the good work that we are
confident he will deliver for our clients.”
